While I'm not in the market for a new camera, I did, back in the day, enjoy using smaller cameras such as the coolpix 950, coolpix 4500, and a canon point and shoot. I especially like the ability to put those cameras in small spaces, or at weird angles that would be difficult or near impossible with full sized DSLR.
Thankfully I found this great, albeit crude, video by Bart Zoni, who delves into the question of quality with the mirrorless cameras and makes his argument that as things improve with the mirrorless you are likely to see better quality with the smaller form factor.
